The IOSH Managing Safely course takes approximately 24 hours to complete in the participant’s own time. Most people complete the course in less than 3 months.

IOSH training is delivered as eLearning, through our virtual classroom or face-to-face at a location of your choice.
Who should take this course?
The course is designed for managers and supervisors who need to manage safety in compliance with their organisation’s policy, best practices and health and safety legislation. It is also aimed at people new to health and safety as part of a management training programme.
For employees at all levels in an organisation we offer IOSH Working Safely (both a Passport and Certificate option). This is a foundation course which provides participants with essential knowledge of hazards in the workplace and how to manage risks effectively.
Managers and supervisors who take IOSH Managing Safely training do not also need to complete IOSH Working Safely.

Legal obligations and responsibilities related to health and safety management.
The regulatory framework governing workplace safety and the key components of an effective health and safety management system.
5. Understanding hazards
Types of hazards that can be present in a workplace, including physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, or psychosocial factors.

Assessment
At the end of the IOSH Managing Safely course there is a multiple-choice assessment to complete which consists of 30 questions. Participants must also submit a risk assessment of their workplace or a setting of their choice.
Certificate
On successful completion of the course participants will receive an IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.
