Safeguarding Adults Training

Our CPD-accredited Safeguarding Adults Training provides a vital foundation in recognising and addressing concerns about adult safety.  

Designed for professionals in the care, education, health, housing and voluntary sectors, this course provides frontline staff with the essential skills and knowledge to respond appropriately to signs of abuse or neglect.  

Safeguarding vulnerable adults is everyone’s responsibility, and this training empowers participants to understand their role in ensuring adults at risk are protected. Participants will learn practical strategies to help them make informed decisions, understand reporting procedures, and know how to act swiftly and effectively when issues arise. 

Who is it for?

Safeguarding Adults Training is suitable for anyone whose job role involves working with adults at risk. Examples include social workers, health professionals, carers and individuals working in education establishments with adult learning.

Course duration

Safeguarding Adults Training takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. 

We also offer Modern Slavery Training which provides participants with the knowledge to help prevent, identify and address modern slavery.

Course aims 

By the end of Safeguarding Adults Training, staff will: 

• Understand the definition of an adult at risk of harm and recognise factors that may increase vulnerability to abuse. 

• Recognise the behavioural, environmental, and physical signs of abuse, including sexual, domestic, financial, and psychological abuse, among others. 

• Know the signs of discrimination, cuckooing, and bullying (including cyberbullying) and the impact on mental and physical health. 

• Understand what is meant by an employer’s duty of care. 

• Know how to report safeguarding concerns and what to do if there is a risk of immediate harm.

How is it delivered?

The ccourse is delivered through an eLearning platform either online or through a computer network which trainees can access from their own laptop or desktop. Each trainee can work through the modules at their own speed as they have the option of saving their progress and completing the course over multiple sessions. We are also able to integrate the course into a SCORM compliant learning management system.
