Conflict Resolution Training

    At the end of the conflict resolution course there are 10 multiple choice questions to answer, and the pass mark is 80%. 

    Certificate

    If you complete managing conflict training on SHINE, you will receive a certificate on successful completion of the course which is downloadable as a PDF file.

    1. Recognising workplace violence?

    Definition of workplace violence with key statistics.  

    Examples of types of workplace violence including threats and intimidation, abusive language, harassment and physical violence. 

    2. Workplace policies and duties

    The purpose of a workplace policy addressing violence, aggression, harassment and bullying in the workplace.  

    An employer’s legal responsibility to prevent and manage workplace violence, aggression, harassment and bullying. 

    An employee’s responsibility to protect their own health and safety and that of others by using strategies to manage conflict, following their employer’s safe systems of work and reporting incidents. 

    3. Human reaction to conflict

    The ways in which individuals react rationally and emotionally when upset or threatened. 

    Common triggers for anger in the workplace. The difference between anger and rage. 

    What prevents people from acting inappropriately when they feel angry.  

    4. Recognising early signs of anger

    The different ways in which individuals manifest anger through their words, appearance, body language. 

    5. De-escalating conflict

    Practical ways to manage an interaction with someone when they are angry. How to de-escalate different situations through positive communication strategies. 

    6. Protecting personal safety

    How to protect your personal safety in high-risk situations. The importance of being aware of where you are, who’s around you and taking sensible precautions. 

    The purpose of an emergency plan and what to include in an emergency plan.

    How is it delivered?

    Conflict resolution training is delivered online or through a computer network to each trainee at their desktop, laptop or mobile device.  

    We can also provide the course to be integrated into a SCORM compliant LMS.  

    Training can be completed at the employee’s own pace by “bookmarking” and recording progress and returning to the training later.
