Praxis42 fire risk assessments services โ€“ a comprehensive and tailored approach

At Praxis42, we take a holistic approach to fire risk assessment, ensuring your organisation meets legal duties and actively protects people, property, and business continuity.

Our experienced fire risk assessment consultants provide regular reviews and updates to keep your organisation compliant and safeguarded, particularly when there are changes to occupancy, building layout, or operational activities. We tailor every assessment to your specific needs and objectives, delivering practical insight, measurable value, and a consistently high standard of service.

What happens during a fire risk assessment?

During a fire risk assessment, one of our competent fire risk assessment consultants follows a structured and proportionate process tailored to your premises, activities, and level of risk.

This starts with a detailed site survey to understand the building layout, construction, use of the premises, occupancy, and movement of people.

The consultant then identifies potential fire hazards and considers who may be at risk, including employees, visitors, and anyone who may need additional assistance.

The consultant will evaluate the level of risk and review your existing fire safety control measures, such as fire detection and alarm systems, means of escape, emergency lighting, signage, fire doors, and fire safety management arrangements. These are assessed against current fire safety legislation and recognised standards.

The assessment results in a clear, prioritised action plan with practical recommendations to strengthen fire safety and compliance. Actions are presented in order of importance, helping you focus on what will have the greatest impact first.

We continue to support you by helping implement recommendations and carrying out regular reviews, ensuring your fire risk management remains effective as your premises or activities evolve.

Our fire risk assessment consultants have experience across a wide range of premises, including:

  • Offices and corporate buildings
  • Warehouses and distribution centres
  • Retail and shopping environments
  • Healthcare settings
  • Education and training facilities
  • Manufacturing and industrial sites

Do you need a fire and safety risk assessment?

UK fire safety law places a duty on the responsible person to identify and manage fire risks in most premises. A fire risk assessment is required for all non-domestic buildings, as well as the communal areas of residential properties, including blocks of flats and houses in multiple occupation (HMOs).

This requirement applies across a wide range of settings, such as offices, retail units, warehouses, factories, schools, healthcare and care environments, licensed premises, and buildings that provide sleeping accommodation.

If your organisation employs five or more people, the findings of the fire risk assessment must be recorded in writing. Even where fewer people are employed, carrying out a suitable and sufficient assessment remains a legal requirement to ensure fire risks are effectively managed.
