CDM Roles and Responsibilities Training

Our CDM Roles and Responsibilities Training provides participants with a clear understanding of the key duty holders under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) 2015 and their legal responsibilities throughout a project’s lifecycle.

      • Understand the purpose and key requirements of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. 
      • Recognise the specific roles and legal duties of clients, designers, contractors, and other appointed duty holders under CDM. 
      • Know how to plan, manage, and coordinate construction work to ensure health, safety, and compliance throughout a project’s lifecycle.

      • Understand the enforcement powers of the HSE and the potential consequences of non-compliance with CDM Regulations.

      At the end of the course, you will undertake a short assessment to assess competence. The pass mark for this is 80%. If you fail a first attempt, you will be given support on retaking the test. On successful completion of this, you will receive a certificate which will be provided to you through your organisational admin team.

      CDM Roles and Responsibilities Training is for clients, designers, principal designers, contractors, and principal contractors who need a through understanding of their legal duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. The course is for those with direct responsibility for planning, managing, or overseeing construction projects.

      Course duration

      Virtual and in-person training takes half a day to complete.
